How it Started
Inn Style Resale Shop is a McKinney based thrift store founded in the summer of 2005 with a vision to support The Samaritan Inn, the largest comprehensive homeless shelter in Collin County. The store began when a generous donor, Mark Sparks, donated the building and a truck to help us get started. Mark had a soft spot for The Samaritan Inn, having provided support in the early years through various donations. His favorite color was purple, and that is why the building is painted in this vibrant hue today. The color serves as a symbol of hope, resilience, and the transformative power of community
After receiving Mark’s donation, our team worked hard to clean up the building, order rugs, and build shelves to set up the shop. We started by bringing items to the store from The Samaritan Inn, where donations often overflowed in the lobby and hallways. What began with humble beginnings has now grown into a vital community resource. Inn Style Resale Shop provides quality, affordable items to the community while generating crucial funding for The Samaritan Inn’s essential services.
Today, Inn Style continues to thrive, deeply rooted in our commitment to helping those in need and making a positive impact on the community. One hundred percent of every donation and every purchase supports our programs at The Samaritan Inn, allowing us to provide resources and hope for a brighter future.
