Donations are the life-blood of our operation. Without your donations, we wouldn’t have anything to sell. So please consider a tax-deductible donation of items that you no longer need but think would be desirable to others. All inventory consists of gently used donations from individuals, families and businesses in Collin and surrounding counties. Please take a few minutes to review our lists of acceptable donations.

DROP OFF POLICY
We gratefully accept donations from 9-2 on Tuesday-Saturday. Please drive around to the east side of the building where your donations will be accepted and a tax receipt given (if desired.) Please do not leave any items outside this time frame. Please take a moment to review our donation guidelines.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE TO PAY TO DISPOSE OF UNUSABLE ITEMS AND THIS REDUCES THE AMOUNT OF REVENUE THAT IS AVAILABLE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE SAMARITAN INN.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ITEMS THAT DON’T SELL?
Items that are in good condition but we are unable to sell are sold to a 3rd party who recycles the items. They often go to a 3rd world country where the people are grateful to get them.

DO DONATIONS GO DIRECTLY TO THE SAMARITAN INN RESIDENTS?
Experience has taught us not to take clothing or items directly to the residents: the items aren’t always the right size or style for the residents. Residents are given vouchers which they bring to the resale store where they can select their own clothing. Graduates of the program are given generous vouchers when they graduate and are setting up their own living quarters. These vouchers can be used for any household items they need including furniture, decor, cookware and dishes.

TIPS FOR DONORS:
Check pockets, drawers and boxes to be sure all the items are donations you want to make.
Separate clothing and shoes from household items. Please do not bring clothing on hangers.
Please be sure your items are not torn, stained, soiled or odorous.
Test electrical equipment and make sure it works.
Be sure all parts and pieces are included.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION IN DONATING ONLY SELLABLE ITEMS.
